Well, 4 months later I suppose it's about time I updated this thing.  Do people read this anymore?

I finished school!  Mostly...I have only 1 semester left, and it involves student teaching which = no classes!  So I am essentially done and SO excited about that.  Graduation is on Dec. 15...yes.

I just spent my summer in Missouri working at Kids Across America, an inner city sports kamp affiliated with Kanakuk Kamps.  It was a truly wonderful, if not incredibly challenging experience, one that I am glad to have done, and something that has made me all the more excited to student teach.  After 2 months at kamp, I went to Kentucky for a week with my family for a huge family reunion...that too, was lots of fun and very relaxing.

I don't feel like writing much else at this point...I'd like to start writing on here again, maybe starting school in a few weeks will give me some motivation.  For now, I am relaxing at my parents before moving into my new apartment on Friday...YAY!  Hope everyone is doing well...I have a list a mile long of people I need to call and get back in touch with....so if you think you might be one of those people, be expecting a call SOON

Cheers.

After the lonliest weekend of my life last week, this past weekend was just what I needed.

*dinner party at Jerry's with wonderful people...a nicely sized group of 16 as opposed to his usual 30+
*late night hours spent at Dave's
*the Peaceful Warrior
*more dinner parties, at CityPlace with coffee to follow
*lots of games
*no homework
*Planet Earth and brownies
*stimulating conversations
*phone call from mum, just in from down under
*the Journey...what will I do without that church this summer?
*lots of sleep

Weekends were not meant to be spent alone.  At least not for me.  I'll take a day or two every once in a while by myself to relax and unwind, but mostly...I enjoy being with people.

Easter break begins tomorrow.  One more exam at 12 and then I am finished!  With a sizeable load of homework to be worked on over the break (no homework this past weekend...what was I thinking?)

Only 5 weeks remaining

Quiet, lonely weekend.  My roommate is in Massachusets, 3 of my friends went to Clewiston, and my other roommate was babysitting...I felt all alone.  Which is nice sometimes, but not enjoyed this weekend.  This weekend I needed to be with people.  There was a group getting together on Friday for line dancing (kill me now), and another party on Saturday night for this girl at church where there was salsa dancing (skills which I'm just not feeling too confident in yet) - I ended up not going to either.  My, all this dancing.  Games, anyone?  A midnight drive?  Picnic on the beach?  Or maybe just a chat?  I'm getting tired of always doing things with large groups of people - I need some more one-on-one.  Yeah.

My parents are in Australia now, and my sister's still in Eurasia.  I miss mi familia!  Even though they live 3 hours away...I like being able to chat with them.  I just found out my sister's trip got extended another week, which means I won't see her for Easter   Sadness...but I know she is really excited about all the places she's going.  I am looking forward to this summer - KAA is getting me more and more excited.  Did I mention KAA (Kids Across America)?  It's where I'm working this summer for 2 months - an inner-city Christian sports camp.  I'm a councelor.  I'm also excited because I've never been to a summer camp before!  Good food, from what I hear.

Ugh...there is so much on my mind.  I'd like to write it all on here, but it would take too long...and I have a paper to write.  Procrastination must stop.

Right now.

Spriiing Break!

Spring break is over, and this saddens me.  I guess I shouldn't complain - 7 more weeks of class and I am done with classes forever!  Well...until grad school.  Whenever that decides to happen.  I am still trying to make up my mind on whether or not I am excited about student teaching in the fall.  I am looking forward to graduation!

Spring break was pretty great.  I spent the first weekend at home with my family, which is always fun and refreshing.  My sister moved into a house about 10 minutes away from my parents a few months ago, so I ended up staying with her for the first few nights.  Mostly just relaxed...it had been an insane couple of weeks.  On Monday I drove to Destin to meet up with Anna and her friend Sarah.  We camped on the beach for 4 days, which was much much fun.  6 hour drives by yourself, however, are no fun.  I know people have done much longer, but it was too long for me.  I fall asleep...really.

Camping was chilly - it was cooler than it has been in West Palm, and was in the 40's our first night.  And...we had no campfire, because you have to buy wood from the camp store (which closed at 3), or get it from outside the park (and as of March, every store gets rid of it's firewood supply).  So...no fire.  But we were able to get some for free (due to my expert powers of persuasion...) the next day, which lasted us the rest of the trip!  The beach was pretty amazingly beautiful - more so than in West Palm.  And due to the cooler temperature, we kind of neglected to put sunscreen on at first...resulting in nice toasty burns for the three of us completely down our backs.  And that's always fun.  Overall though, so much fun.  It was so great to hang out with Anna, and the three of us all got along really well.

The end of Spring break was once again spent at home - this time mostly by myself as my parents are now in Thailand, Australia, the Phillipines, and Papua New Guinea for the next month.  It was nice though - I watched some movies, did laundry, thought about washing my car, and slept a lot (not a lot of sleeping happened during camping).  On Saturday morning I had an early breakfast with my sister and about 20 of her friends/co-workers.  We then went to Travel Country, which has a huge sale twice a year, with much of their stuff up to 80% off.  They have packbacks, sleeping bags, tents, jackets, all kinds of goodies.  Really expensive stuff though.  We got there an hour early because apparently people literally kill eachother running into the store when it opens.  It was fairly intense...but Rachel and I both got really nice, expensive jackets (I got a Marmot jacket for $50, down from $250 - I was pretty stoked), and she got a nice packback as well.  It was pretty cool - I'll definatly plan to go to their next sale if I'm in town.

Here's a few pics from the trip - Anna took dozen's more, I'm sure they'll be on facebook soon.  The height differences between us were slightly ridiculous - Sarah is 4'11", Anna 5'3", and I'm almost 6'.  So yeah...taking pictures of the three of us was somewhat challenging   Might I point out that you can't even see my feet in these photos!

I need prayer for some serious focus and motivation.  I'm losing the battle with my school work these days - I need to kick it up a notch.  Just 7 more weeks!

Cheers dears.
